Santo Domingo. – The General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC) highlighted the important role played by the Vocational Schools of the Armed Forces and the National Police in the technical and professional training of persons deprived of liberty, emphasizing their contribution to the process of social reintegration.
During his participation in the thanksgiving mass for the 59th anniversary of the founding of these schools, the head of the DGSPC, Roberto Hernández Basilio, valued the inter-institutional collaboration that allows inmates to access educational opportunities that transform their lives.
Hernández Basilio underscored that, in centers like La Victoria, where a vocational school operates, inmates receive training in areas such as electricity, carpentry and other technical trades, tools that open doors to entrepreneurship, decent employment and effective reintegration into society.
