Oneil Cruz shines with two home runs and Pirates beat Brewers in extra innings

Pittsburgh, USA — Oneil Cruz hit two home runs, including a key one in the ninth inning, and Adam Frazier scored the winning run in the tenth thanks to a wild pitch, in the Pittsburgh Pirates' 6-5 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Dominican Cruz was the offensive star with a pair of home runs, highlighting his solo home run against Abner Uribe in the ninth inning that tied the score and extended the game to extra innings.

Already in the tenth, Alexander Canario tied the game again with a run-producing single. Although he was then put out at the plate, Adam Frazier capitalized on a wild pitch with a 0-2 count against Joey Bart to score from third and seal the home victory.

Star pitcher Paul Skenes shone again for Pittsburgh, pitching six solid innings of one run with eight strikeouts, while receiving the support of the public with an ovation when leaving the mound with a partial lead of 2-1.

In addition to Cruz, Frazier shined with the bat by connecting three hits, while Bryan Reynolds drove in two runs and Andrew McCutchen added two hits.

For Milwaukee, William Contreras hit his fifth home run of the year in the ninth to take a fleeting lead. Rhys Hoskins, Christian Yelich, and Jackson Chourio also had two hits each.

Ryan Borucki (1-1) got the win despite allowing a run in the tenth, while Uribe (2-1) took the loss after giving up three runs in the bottom of the tenth.
