Barahona, DR. – The general secretary of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Johnny Pujols, stated that this political organization is in the process of internal reorganization and territorial strengthening, with a view to ensuring its national presence and winning the presidential elections of 2028.
During a press conference held in the province of Barahona, as part of a tour of the southern region of the country, Pujols highlighted the progress in the implementation of the Organizational and Electoral Line (LOE), a structural strategy defined in the X Congress of the PLD, currently in its first phase. This initiative aims to revitalize and consolidate the party machinery through the socialization and restructuring of its bases.
“We are preparing the PLD troops to go out and defend the Dominican people and to win the 2028 elections,” said Johnny Pujols, who also criticized the lack of public investment by the current government. “The abandonment of the countryside and essential works demonstrates that the country needs to return to an era of progress and social justice,” he stated.
The PLD leader accused the current administration of "absolute abandonment" in key areas such as agricultural development and regional infrastructure, pointing out that it is the responsibility of the PLD to articulate a solid political alternative in the face of the growing needs of the Dominican people.

"This is my political home and I return to contribute to the cause that I have always believed in," said Pérez, who was welcomed by Pujols as part of the party's unity and reintegration process.
The regional assembly included a political orientation workshop led by Johnny Pujols, along with Mayobanex Escoto, head of the Organization Secretariat; Domingo Jiménez, in charge of Technology; and other members of the LOE Implementation Commission. The leaders agreed that the reorganization process is essential to articulate a stronger, more modern, and connected party structure with the real needs of the electorate.“El PLD no es solo un partido que aspira a volver al poder; es una fuerza histórica que ha transformado el país y que tiene la responsabilidad de rescatar la visión de desarrollo con equidad”, concluyó Pujols.
