Santiago, R.D. – The Metropolitan Hospital of Santiago (HOMS) announced that the family of the quadruplets recently born in its facilities will not have to pay absolutely anything for the medical care received. The institution reported that it will waive the clinical co-payment and any other expenses related to the delivery and neonatal care.
The decision seeks to alleviate the economic burden that multiple births represent for the parents, Darianny Mercedes Acosta and Maicol Rafael López, who became parents for the first time with the arrival of three girls and a boy.

The delivery, classified as high complexity, was successfully performed by a multidisciplinary team composed of gynecologists, obstetricians, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, and nursing staff. Both the mother and the four babies are stable and under medical observation.
In addition to the hospital's support, the HOMS Foundation, collaborators, allied laboratories, and the pediatrics team will assume the supply of supplies and articles necessary to guarantee the well-being of newborns during their first months of life.
“The birth of these quadruplets represents a medical challenge, but also an opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to life, comprehensive care, and the well-being of our patients,” stated the HOMS administration.
The news has been received with enthusiasm by the medical community and hospital staff, who celebrate this event as a symbol of hope, joy, and unity.
