Edmundo González to Pope Leo XIV: I trust that your leadership will bring solace to Venezuela

After the election of Leo XIV as the new Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church was confirmed, the president-elect of Venezuela, Edmundo González, issued a congratulatory message this Thursday, May 8, in which he expressed his spiritual support for the beginning of the new pontificate.

My sincere congratulations to His Holiness Leo XIV on his election as Supreme Pontiff. May his pontificate shine with spiritual strength and wisdom. I trust that his leadership will bring comfort to the peoples who suffer today, especially to my noble people of Venezuela,” he expressed through his social media.
