Santo Domingo.– In an event that combined technology, politics, and a discourse of institutional confrontation, the artificial intelligence platform “María”, a tool created to monitor public contracts in real time and combat corruption in the State, was presented this Monday.
The project is spearheaded by businessman and activist Jochy Gómez, who led the launch announcing his formal resignation from all participation in companies with state ties. “As of today, I resign from any business ties with the State and will dedicate every hour of my life to supporting María,” he declared, affirming that public trust is built with actions and not with words.

Developed by the DOGE technical team and free and open source, the platform offers audit automation, collusion and overpricing detection through machine learning algorithms, early warnings, and unfiltered publication of findings. It also includes an open governance panel, available to media, NGOs, and citizens.
According to its creators, "María" already has the backing of technology foundations in Washington and legal support to initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for the misappropriation of public funds.
One of the highlights of the event was the participation of the American political strategist Roger Stone, known for his closeness to former President Donald Trump. "Resistance can also be programmed," he stated, when presenting his "five rules for surviving the establishment" and supporting the Dominican initiative as an example of the use of technology to challenge traditional power.
Gómez's defense attorney, Carlos Balcácer, also spoke at the event, calling the presentation of the tool an "act of honesty and public service." "Many wanted to see him behind bars. But they will have to swallow this reality without water," he said.
Balcácer maintained that the launch of “María” dismantles the Public Ministry's narrative about flight risks or obstruction by his client, calling it a “worn-out and even insulting” discourse.
