London (EFE).- Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska pulled off the biggest upset of the Wimbledon tournament, the third Grand Slam of the season, by eliminating American Coco Gauff, the second seed of the tournament, with a score of 7-6 (3) and 6-1.

The Roland Garros champion struggled to control the winning shots of the Ukrainian, who connected 16, and especially to read her serve. Despite being one of the best returners on the circuit, Gauff only generated one break point in the entire match and ended up being annihilated by the Ukrainian's aggressiveness. Gauff was so disoriented that she didn't even realize she had lost an earring in one of the exchanges. It was Yastremska who found it on the grass and left it on her bench, in one of the most curious images of this Wimbledon so far. Wimbledon, joy for Yastremska and frustration for Gauff "This court brings back many good memories, because I played the junior final years ago. It brings me many emotions," said Yastremska. "It was a great match, I was 'on fire'. It's the first time I've beaten her, she's a great player and a great person, we have a great relationship," added the Ukrainian courtside, already with the victory in the bag.
For Gauff, this is the Grand Slam she struggles with the most and, since she became known here at 15 years old, when she reached the round of 16, she has never managed to advance beyond that fourth round.
