London, June 27 (EFE).- Italian Jannik Sinner, number one in the ATP ranking, has changed his fitness trainer and physiotherapist before the Wimbledon tournament, as could be seen in his training session this Thursday.
Marco Panichi, physical trainer, and Ulises Badio, physio, are no longer part of Sinner's team, after neither of them were present at the Italian's training this Thursday on the center court and Sky Italia confirmed the departure of both from his team.
Both Panichi and Badio have extensive experience on the circuit and had previously worked for several years with the Serbian Novak Djokovic, the most Grand Slam winner of the ATP circuit and current world number six.
Both had started collaborating with Sinner at the end of last year, once the Italian got rid of Umberto Ferrara and Giacomo Naldi, after the doping case for which Sinner agreed with WADA a three-month sanction for a double positive in Indian Wells in 2024.
The change in Sinner's team takes place after the defeats in the Rome and Roland Garros finals, both at the hands of Carlos Alcaraz, and the fall in the second round of Halle against Alexander Bublik. Sinner will debut this Tuesday at Wimbledon, the third Grand Slam of the season, against his compatriot Luca Nardi.
