Great thanks
"Thank you, Puerto Plata, thank you, with this recognition I close the cycle in sports in Puerto Plata," were the words of an emotional Marlon Martínez, when he was allowed to address those present.
Martínez becomes the first player to have his number retired in two top tournaments of the country and in the National Basketball League.
His number 10 jersey was retired by the Sameji team in Santiago in 2022 and by his lifelong club Batey Tres from Puerto Plata, in 2017.
In the emotional activity, the so-called Rey or F10 was accompanied by family, friends and former teammates from both the national team, Club Sameji, Batey Tres and Marineros, among whom were Carlos Payano, José Fortuna, Kelvin Peña, Miguel Martínez (Chocho Loco), among others.
He was a member of the representative teams of Puerto Plata that were in the finals of 2001 versus Villa Francisca (lidoba version) and Cañeros de la Romana in 2010.
