With a career spanning over four decades, David left his mark on emblematic titles such as The Incredible Hulk, X-Factor and Spider-Man 2099 at Marvel Comics, as well as in Aquaman, Young Justice and Supergirl for DC Comics.
Born on September 23, 1956 in Fort Meade, Maryland, Peter David began his career as an editor before dedicating himself entirely to writing comics and novels.
His death comes months after a family friend, Graham Murphy, launched a campaign on GoFundMe to cover medical expenses, following the rejection of the US public system (Medicaid) to continue his treatment.
In an update published on May 20, his wife reported that he had been connected to a ventilator due to his deteriorated lung capacity. “He is under light sedation to prevent him from resisting the tube,” she wrote, although she highlighted signs of improvement.
