Spanish journalist, Javier Negre, confirms there are Dominicans stranded in Israel amid the conflict

The Spanish journalist from La Derecha Diario, Javier Negre, who has been between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, in Israel, for approximately eight days, amidst the Iranian siege waiting to be able to leave the country, reported that there are Dominicans stranded in the middle of the conflict. "I know that there are Dominicans here too, trying to leave through Egypt and Jordan, paying a significant sum of money," Negre reported from a "ghost town" in Israel after the intense bombings. In a video shared on Instagram, the communicator states that "he is telling everyone what the people of Israel suffered" and exposing what the press has hidden from this difficult situation. Javier Negre who decided to stay in Israel after Javier Milei's visit (President of Argentina, who was in Israel from June 9 to 12), ended up trapped after the attacks by Iran.

"The alarms are constantly sounding and we live from shelter to shelter. It's a situation of uncertainty, of anxiety, because also the airport is closed and you can't leave," related Javier Negre, who is also evaluating the possibility of evacuating through Egypt or Jordan.

It is reminded that, given the state of emergency declared throughout the territory of Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX) urged all Dominican citizens residing in that country to stay in their homes and to identify in advance a safe shelter in case they need to take refuge.

About the conflict

According to data from the Gazan Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas, at least 55,637 people have died in the Gaza Strip since the Israeli offensive began on October 7, 2023. At least 34 Gazans have died this Wednesday, according to the official Palestinian agency Wafa, which adds to the 104 that Israel killed yesterday in the Gaza Strip, according to local medical sources. Of these victims, at least 75 were shot dead while waiting for food delivery near Khan Yunis (south), in Gaza City or in other parts of the Strip.

Israel has carried out multiple air and drone strikes on Iran, including nuclear facilities, IRGC bases and the state broadcaster IRIB.

The Iranian ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Ali Bahreini, has reported that his country has conveyed to Washington that it will respond firmly if the United States gets directly involved in Israel's military campaign.
