Princess Leonor speaks for the first time on a Spanish radio program while in the Dominican Republic

Santo Domingo.- The Princess Leonor de Borbón spoke for the first time on a Spanish radio program while in the Dominican Republic, as the final part of her instructional trip aboard the Juan Sebastián de Elcano training ship.

His radio debut was on the program "Españoles en la mar" of Radio Exterior de España, a space dedicated for 40 years to topics of fishing, marine resources, navigation, oceanographic research, naval history, the merchant marine and recreational boating.

"Greetings from the Dominican Republic to all the Spanish men and women who work at sea, and I congratulate Radio Exterior for those 40 years in which they have listened to and assisted all those professionals in their program "Españoles en la Mar" (Spaniards at Sea). There are many compatriots who dedicate their lives to fishing, the merchant marine, port infrastructures, oceanographic research, recreational boating, the care of marine resources and, of course, naval military training. From one of the stops on this training cruise, I send my affection to all the people who spend so much time away from Spain dedicated to the sea," expressed Leonor when expressing her congratulations.

 Following this stop, the crew will set course for New York, where they are expected to arrive on June 5th.

The eldest daughter of Kings Felipe VI and Letizia, arrived at the port of Punta Torrecilla, in Santo Domingo, from where she will depart on Saturday, May 24 to attend, along with her parents, the graduation of her sister, Infanta Sofía, at UWC Atlantic College in Wales, the same boarding school where the Princess of Asturias completed her studies.
