Madrid.- The princess Leonor, heir to the Spanish crown, who is on board the Juan Sebastián Elcano training ship, has sent this Saturday a loving video message to her younger sister, the infanta Sofía, due to the impossibility of attending her graduation ceremony in Wales, in which she assures her that she is very proud of her.
"Hello Sofia, I can't be there today in Wales to accompany you on your graduation day, but I wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate you. I am very proud of you and we'll see each other soon at home to celebrate. Enjoy it a lot and lots of kisses," says Princess Leonor to her sister in a video recorded on the ship, which departed this Saturday from Santo Domingo bound for New York.
The message, provided by the Spanish Royal House, is contained in a compilation video with which, given her obligatory absence from her sister's graduation ceremony, the princess wanted to be present in some way through images with some experiences in these eighteen years together.
The compilation begins with a collective congratulation from the midshipmen and the Crown Princess on the ship's deck for the infanta's 18th birthday on April 29th - which was not published due to the blackout that occurred the day before throughout peninsular Spain - and in which everyone sings 'Happy Birthday'.
The video ends with the personal congratulations from the Princess of Asturias to Infanta Sofía - during her stopover in Santo Domingo - for her Graduation at the UWC Atlantic College of Wales, a school that she herself was able to show her two years ago, shortly before she began the two years of International Baccalaureate.
Because on May 20, 2023, the firstborn of the kings celebrated her graduation at the same Welsh center, where she also studied the International Baccalaureate before starting her military training.
In addition, the video contains images of the two sisters' participation in institutional events, including those of the Princess of Asturias Foundation and the Princess of Girona Foundation, celebrations of sporting triumphs, National Day and Book Day, among others, as well as some joint personal photographs.
