The Israeli emergency service, Magen David Adom (MDA), confirmed this Monday that two people died after the direct impact of an Iranian missile against the bunker in which they were sheltering and stressed to the population that the attacks "are not a game" and that they must seek shelter when the alert sirens sound.
"The two people died inside the bunker because it was a direct attack, the missile directly hit the bunker," said MDA representative Uri Shacham in a press conference, who also reminded the population that they must seek shelter immediately after hearing the sirens, "the only thing citizens can do to save their lives is to go to the bunkers," he reiterated.
A preliminary investigation by the Israeli Armed Forces indicated that the ballistic missile directly impacted the wall separating two bunkers of a residential building in Petah Tikva, "such a direct impact, with a particularly heavy missile, left no possibility of protection," they pointed out.
During this early morning, at least 8 people died from attacks in Israel, in addition to the two victims in the bunker, two other civilians died outside the headquarters: one on the top floor of the building and another in the building opposite, as a result of the bombing.
Three other bodies were recovered after a missile impact in the northern city of Haifa, and the body of a man of about 80 years old was recovered after an attack in Bnei Brark, a few kilometers from Tel Aviv.
