Lisbon, Portugal. – The extraordinary ambassador and plenipotentiary of the Dominican Republic in Portugal, Patricia Villegas de Jorge, presented her credentials to Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, president of the Portuguese Republic.
Following the formal presentation of credentials, President Rebelo de Sousa held a private meeting with Ambassador Villegas de Jorge, where they discussed key issues for strengthening bilateral relations between both countries. During the meeting, the ambassador extended, on behalf of the Dominican President, Luis Abinader Corona, a warm greeting to the Portuguese people, reaffirming the commitment of both nations to diplomatic dialogue, cultural cooperation, and economic exchange.
After the audience, the ambassador was introduced to the members of the cabinet accompanying the Portuguese head of state, in a gesture of welcome and institutional cordiality. The Dominican diplomat was accompanied at the event by counselor Verceli Aguirre and first secretary Francisco Hidalgo.
