Beijing.- China registered this Monday a earthquake of magnitude 4.6 in the southern region of Canton, the Asian country's Seismological Networks Center reported today.
The tremor occurred at 18:48 local time (10:48 GMT) at a depth of about 10 kilometers in an area of the town of Qingyuan, located about 90 kilometers from the Pearl River, one of the most densely populated areas of the Asian giant, where cities such as Canton, Shenzhen or Zhuhai are located.
