Live Nation acquires SD Concerts to strengthen its presence in Latin America

Editorial - Live Nation is expanding its presence in Latin America by acquiring SD Concerts, the leading live entertainment company in the Dominican Republic and an emerging force in Central and South America. This action reinforces Live Nation's commitment to Latin America, a rapidly growing region in concert tours, and strengthens its mission to bring more live music to fans around the world.

Founded in 2001, SD Concerts is behind many of the region's most prominent live events, promoting both Latin and international talents in the Dominican Republic, in addition to holding shows in Aruba, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, and Puerto Rico. SD Concerts also operates a ticketing platform that currently serves all SD events and will serve as the basis for a future expansion of ticketing in the region. Through this acquisition, this platform will become part of the Ticketmaster ecosystem.

Michael Rapino, CEO and President of Live Nation Entertainment, stated: “Saymon and SD Concerts have built an extraordinary business based on deep local knowledge and a great passion for live music. We are joining a consolidated regional leader to help even more Latin artists reach global audiences and connect international artists with fans throughout Latin America.”

Saymon Díaz, founder and CEO of SD Concerts, who will continue to lead the business, commented: “Live music is booming throughout the region, and we are proud of the role SD Concerts has played in that growth. Partnering with Live Nation gives us the global infrastructure to continue growing and supporting the next generation of Latin talent. This alliance will bring bigger shows to more places and create even more unforgettable live music experiences for fans in the Dominican Republic and throughout Latin America.”

The concert industry continues to gain momentum in Latin America, with Live Nation events in the region registering an increase of over 25% in fan attendance during the first quarter of 2025. The growing demand for live experiences is driven by the global rise of artists who sing in languages other than English, who now represent twice as many of the top 50 Live Nation tours compared to 2019. This momentum highlights Latin America's growing role as a powerhouse in global tours and Live Nation's involvement in creating more opportunities for artists and audiences to connect through live music.
