Bad Bunny reportedly drew inspiration for his Met Gala look from the legendary Puerto Rican comedian Tavín

Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, the singer's given name, remembered the comedian Octavio “Tavín” Pumarejo, a legend of humor in Puerto Rico, who since the 1960s, managed to establish himself as one of the most important figures on the scene, taking advantage of his stutter and setting aside the barriers that this brought him.

Tavín, remembered for his striking and humorous phrases: “¡Qué liiindo!”, “Tu, tu, tu, tua, tua” and “Estoy en la cúspide del fracaso”, is trending on the internet thanks to Bad Bunny and his look similar to the ones used by him.

With eye-catching elements in his wardrobe, including a traditional Pava hat made by the Puerto Rican artist Neysha de León, creator of the brand De León Headwear, Bad Bunny celebrated the Puerto Rican identity through the exhibition of a legendary figure like Tavín, contributing with this laudable act to the preservation of its traditions.

Bad Bunny spoke with Vogue magazine, revealing that he had been planning that look with his team for months for the big night.

“I am wearing PRADA. We worked on this look for several months: my friend Janthony with PRADA. Some pieces are inspired by the culture of Puerto Rico, such as the hat. I wore the tie because it is made of the same fabric; we did something special. I hope people like it,” expressed Benito.

In that same order, the designer of the Pava added: “They already had a version of the Pava design in mind. They wanted something that would give it that Puerto Rican touch. We talked a lot about the theme of the Met Gala and how to incorporate dandyism into our jibarito. So the focus was to create something that wasn't a costume. We wanted something that maintained that elegance. It was about creating a Pava, but with a shorter style, nothing too dramatic,” the designer shared with People en Español magazine, about the piece that took two and a half weeks to make.

Bad Bunny fans claim he was inspired by Tavín for his Met Gala look

Through social media, fans of the famous "Bad Bunny" immediately expressed seeing a similarity between the look used by Bad Bunny at the Met Gala, with the style of clothing used by the famous comedian Tavín in his appearances and shows.

The famous total look worn by Bad has a very similar style in the combinations, as they even have the same colors used by Tavín in his time.

Tavín's daughter reacts to look that pays tribute to her father
