Santo Domingo.- Today, Mother's Day the National Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), does not foresee significant changes in a large part of the national territory. Consequently, they forecast, during the course of the morning hours, a mostly sunny sky and of grayish appearance due to the presence of tiny Saharan dust particles.
However, during the course of the afternoon, the influence of the wind and local effects, typical of the geography of the national territory, will cause showers and local downpours, moderate at times with thunderstorms and isolated wind gusts in different municipalities of the Caribbean coast, mainly in the provinces; La Altagracia, El Seibo, La Romana, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Peravia, Azua, as well as, also; Monseñor Nouel, La Vega, San José de Ocoa, among others close to the Central Mountain Range and the border area.
The temperatures will remain hot. Consequently, the population is urged to; hydrate adequately, drinking enough fluids, preferably water, wear light-colored clothing and avoid the sun's rays from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Reminding them, also, that children and the elderly are more susceptible to heat.
For tomorrow, Monday; weather conditions will begin to vary, due to the approach of a trough, with forecasts indicating that from early hours and throughout the morning, occasional increases in cloudiness will occur with weak and isolated precipitation in different towns of La Altagracia, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, Samaná, María Trinidad Sánchez, Duarte, San Pedro, La Romana, San Cristóbal and Greater Santo Domingo, among other nearby areas.

However, during the afternoon and night, these rains will continue to occur intermittently over the provinces mentioned above, with expectations that they will extend towards other locations in the Central Mountain Range and border area, causing scattered showers, locally moderate, thunderstorms and wind gusts. These will be associated with the prevailing east wind and the approach of a tropical wave, as well as the incidence of a trough in the middle and upper levels of the troposphere.
