President Abinader leaves for Washington for a meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio

Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader left this Wednesday morning for Washington, where he will hold a bilateral meeting with the Secretary of State of the United States of America, Marco Rubio.

Likewise, the president will receive the Leadership award from the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute, with its acronym in English (CHLI).

The award ceremony for President Abinader takes place during a dinner attended by congressmen, senior White House officials, and international leaders.

The president departed at 10:52 in the morning from the San Isidro Air Base where he was seen off by the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre; the commander of the Air Force, Major General Pilot Floreal T. Suárez Martínez and the commanders of the Presidential Guard, Brigadier General Guillermo Caro Cruz and of the Honor Guard Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Paula Fernández Jiménez.

The Head of State on his trip to the North American nation is accompanied by the ministers of the Presidency, José Ignacio Paliza, and of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez.

The President is also accompanied by the director of CUSEP and head of his security, Major General Jimmy Arias; as well as his assistants Eilyn Beltran and Noelia Shephard and the Press Director of the President, Daniel García Archibald.

President Abinader will be back in the country on Thursday afternoon.
