The head of the Secretariat of Ethics and Discipline, Alejandrina Germán, delivered the keynote speech, underlining the importance of promoting bochist values:

"On the occasion of the 116th anniversary of the birth of Professor Juan Bosch, the heads of ethics and discipline in each province or municipality must ensure the decent and honest behavior of the members, as well as foster dialogue and promote Bosch's values," Germán indicated.

Patriotic Act

The day began at 8:00 in the morning with the solemn singing of the National Anthem and the PLD anthem, followed by the raising of the national flag, a ceremony led by members of the Central Committee Luis de León and Aquilina Alcequiez, representatives of District 01 of the National District. The head of the Secretariat of Culture of the PLD, Rafael Calderón, also had a special intervention in which he highlighted the impact of Bosch's thought on national life:

"Professor Juan Bosch, at all levels, continues to be a reference for ethics, morality, honor, discipline, and love for the Dominican Republic."

Photographic Exhibition

At the end of the day, Danilo Medina and Johnny Pujols inaugurated a photographic exhibition installed on the perimeter fence of the Casa Nacional, as a visual tribute to the legacy of the founder of the PLD. During his speech, Pujols reaffirmed the value of Bosch's thought as a moral and political guide:

"The thought of Juan Bosch has to be our compass. To win elections, yes, but above all, to continue transforming realities and make people live better again," expressed the general secretary.

He also highlighted the works of the PLD governments and their contribution to a more just society:

“He took the peasant suffering and turned it into consciousness and struggle. From the word, he built paths of prosperity. That is the Bosch we preach. That is the Bosch that inspired the government of President Danilo Medina”.

During the event, the song "La Gaviota" was performed, with lyrics by Professor Juan Bosch and music by Julio Gautreaux, in the voice of Neni Pion, Bosch's great-granddaughter, accompanied on guitar by Joel Martín. Following the words of Johnny Pujols, accompanied by Danilo Medina, Cristina Lizardo and Maribel Acosta, a portrait of Juan Bosch was unveiled, officially inaugurating the exhibition of the President Ad-Vitam. This will be available both on the perimeter fence and in the corridors and halls of the PLD headquarters.
