Santo Domingo.- Users of the Santo Domingo Metro denounce that the electric stairs in one of the main stations are always out of service during peak hours, a situation that especially forces elderly people to descend the fixed stairs, making a great physical effort that puts their health at risk.
This Friday afternoon at 5:30, it was possible to observe elderly adults descending the long flights of stairs with difficulty, some leaning on the handrails while others were assisted by family members. Users are asking the Office for the Reordering of Transportation (Opret) to provide a response to the situation of the out-of-service escalators during peak hours, highlighting that not only the elderly are affected, but also people with reduced mobility and mothers with strollers. You may be interested in: SD Metro to announce new operating hours
