Santo Domingo. – Chinese merchant Po Xie, owner of the Mudan store, was released this Monday afternoon after being detained in the Preventive Jail of the Palace of Justice of Ciudad Nueva for allegedly assaulting agents of the General Directorate of Migration during an operation in his establishment.
Judge Fátima Veloz, from the Permanent Attention Office of the National District, dictated coercive measures consisting of periodic presentation and the payment of an economic guarantee of 100 thousand pesos through a contract, partially accepting the request of the Public Ministry.

The incident that led to his arrest occurred last Friday during an intervention by immigration authorities at the commercial establishment, where, according to the preliminary report, Po Xie allegedly obstructed the actions of the agents. The merchant's defense has denied the accusations, alleging excessive use of force by the acting officers.
The case will continue under investigation while the merchant must comply with the conditions imposed by the court.
