Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic's Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) reported that during the morning of this Thursday, passing showers have been occurring in several parts of the country in provinces such as La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, San Cristóbal and Greater Santo Domingo, as a result of a weak trough that is manifesting at different levels of the troposphere. These precipitations will disappear as the hours pass, with a sky with scattered clouds and many hours of sunshine predominating.
However, in the afternoon, local effects and the east/southeast wind will be contributing to cloud developments that will cause some widely isolated showers over Sánchez Ramírez, Hato Mayor, La Altagracia, and Santiago Rodríguez.
For Friday, the approach of a tropical wave to the country will cause, during the afternoon and night, cloud cover increases accompanied by local showers with thunderstorms and wind gusts over Santiago, La Vega, San Juan, Elías Piña, Independencia, Barahona, Monseñor Nouel, La Altagracia, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Peravia, among others.
