SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Institute of Meteorology (Indomet) anticipates that Friday will present a warm environment and areas of overcast skies, accompanied by scattered showers in several regions of the country. During the early morning, showers could be recorded in some areas of the Caribbean coast, but the influence of a high-pressure system will maintain conditions of greater morning clarity.
For the afternoon, the increase in daytime heat along with the dragging of winds from the east will favor the formation of clouds that will originate intermittent rains, accompanied by possible thunderstorms and occasional wind gusts. The provinces with the highest probability of these phenomena include La Altagracia, El Seibo, Hato Mayor, Monte Plata, Santo Domingo, San Cristóbal, Monseñor Nouel, Sánchez Ramírez, La Vega, Azua, and San Juan. As the night progresses, the rainy activity is expected to decrease.
In the National District, showers with thunderstorms and wind gusts are forecast, which could last until the early hours of the night. Similarly, Santo Domingo Norte, Santo Domingo Este, and Santo Domingo Oeste will have local rains, thunderstorms, and moderate winds until nightfall.
Nighttime temperatures will be between 21 °C and 23 °C, while the highs will reach values between 32 °C and 34 °C, with a high heat index throughout the territory.
