Santo Domingo,.- The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) assured this Tuesday that during the first semester it deported 184,001 Haitians in an irregular migratory condition.
"In June, we deported 30,757 undocumented Haitian citizens, reaffirming our commitment to security and compliance with law 285-04", the organization said on its social media.

Migration assured that this "sustained effort" will intensify starting in August with the incorporation of 465 new agents, distributed in 19 provinces, as part of the 15 measures announced by President Luis Abinader, to address irregular immigration. "With them, we will reinforce the operational capacity throughout the national territory," added the institution. The DGM said that it carries out its immigration control work with professionalism, respect for human rights, and in coordination with national and international organizations. In October 2024, the Government ordered the deportation of at least 10,000 undocumented Haitians per week. Abinader said on that occasion that the deportations are part of the measures assumed by the Dominican State in the face of the limited results of the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) of Haiti led by Kenya. In the country, a broad debate is taking place to establish a consensus aimed at implementing a state policy in the face of what the authorities have called the threats posed to the Dominican Republic by the deterioration of the situation in Haiti.
