Santo Domingo.- Agents of the National Drug Control Directorate (DNCD) and members of the Public Ministry, supported by the National Police, seized more than 317,000 grams of different narcotics in joint interdiction operations carried out during the last week in a large part of the country.
Within the framework of the commitment to maintain citizen security and coexistence, agents and prosecutors executed 60 raids and hundreds of operations in a focused manner, arresting some 896 people, linked to the crime of sale and distribution of narcotic substances, the DNCD said today in a note.

In detail, 150,250 grams of presumed cocaine, 162,781 of marijuana, 4,021 grams of crack, 80 of hashish, 3.20 of methamphetamines and 39 ecstasy pills were seized. In addition, 3 firearms, 12 bladed weapons, 6 vehicles, 31 motorcycles, 29 communication radios, 268 cell phones, 76 scales, 1 slot machine, cash, among other evidence, were seized, used by the micro-traffickers for their criminal activities. "During these actions, executed as part of the new intelligence and interdiction approach, centers for the collection, distribution, and commercialization of narcotics have been dismantled," the organization stated.
