São Paulo, June 21 (EFE).- Eight people died this Saturday when the hot air balloon they were traveling in with thirteen other passengers on board crashed in the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, official sources reported.
The state governor, Jorginho Mello, confirmed on his social media the rescue of thirteen survivors, of whom no details about their state of health were disclosed.
The accident occurred during the morning in the municipality of Praia Grande, south of the state, where these trips are regularly made by tourists who frequent the famous beaches.

In addition, he announced that "the rest of the victims are being attended to", without divulging further details.
The causes of the accident are currently unknown.
A week ago, the fall of a hot air balloon resulted in the death of a pregnant woman and multiple injuries in the Brazilian state of São Paulo.
