SANTO DOMINGO.– The General Directorate of Migration (DGM) informs that, as part of its policy of continuous improvement, institutional strengthening and commitment to transparency, starting Monday, June 2, 2025, cash payments will not be accepted for the migration services and procedures offered to national and foreign citizens.

The institution explained that, from now on, all payments must be made via credit or debit cards, bank deposits, or through the official digital platform, a measure that is part of the quality objectives established in the Institutional Strategic Plan and the strengthening of administrative controls in its management system.

In order to facilitate compliance with this provision for those who do not have bank cards, the DGM will enable a consultation module that will allow calculating the amount to be paid for the services offered and administrative fees, so that it can be settled at any of the Banco de Reservas branches.

The DGM clarifies that this measure will apply to all payments for procedures and services to be managed before the institution, both in offices and at airports, and that this provision will not affect the attention provided to users or the established procedures, since, on the contrary, it seeks to guarantee greater security and comfort by avoiding the transfer of cash. Likewise, it promotes institutional practices aligned with ethical principles and good management of public funds.

The head of the General Directorate of Migration, Vice Admiral Luis Rafael Lee Ballester, ARD, highlighted that this provision is framed within the commitment of his administration to a responsible, efficient, and transparent public administration.
