National: May 13th Anniversaries

  • 1849: President Manuel Jimenes appears before Congress on charges of pressuring said body.
  • 1884: First test of the Santiago-Samaná railway, which only covered the Sánchez-La Vega section.
  • 1907: Congress declares a loan of up to twenty million pesos to be of public utility.
